Menthol Flavored E-Cigarette Use During a Simulated Ban on Menthol Cigarettes

What is the purpose of the study?

The purpose of this study is to determine how menthol flavoring in cigarettes and e-cigarettes affects
the way these products are used.

How often are the clinic visits?

There are a total of 7 visits occurring over an approximately 3 month period.

What will I be doing in the study?

During the study we would ask that you either continue to smoke the type to cigarette you are
currently smoking, or that you switch to a different type of cigarette. In addition we will provide you
with e-cigarettes that you can use during the study. At your clinic visits you will complete
questionnaires, do a breath test and return a completed log of your tobacco use. For some of the
visits, we will ask you to bring in your first morning urine.

Will I be compensated?

If you participate in all of the study visits and complete all required study procedures you will receive
up to $200, as well as e-cigarettes during the study. All payments are made as pre-paid Visa gift
cards.
